Today on the 405 freeway was extra bad. Took me 3 hours to get to work. A big-rig crash closing all lanes except 1 on the 405 N freeway. I took the surface streets, which wasn’t better, but was enjoying watching a number of airplanes flying over head while listening to the end of the Kevin and Bean morning show. I felt like I listened to the whole Kevin and Bean show this morning from beginning till end.
An early morning big-rig crash today on the southbound Interstate 405 left one person dead near Los Angeles International Airport and blocked traffic for miles, authorities said. It could be early afternoon before the site is cleaned up, California Highway Patrol officials said. Traffic on the southbound lanes was backed up this morning for nearly two miles, past the 101 Freeway. - LA Times.
This absolutely did not happen. When I was driving home from work around 5pm, the lanes going North was still closed. I was going South on the 405 so it wasn’t that bad at all coming home. UPDATE: Apparently the traffic was so bad that Andrew Bynum from the Los Angeles Lakers was late to the opening night of the season!
